What is firmware and why do you need to update it?
Firmware is the low-level software that helps your Fitbit device run. From time to time, we release free software updates that add new features and functionality, and improve performance. In some cases, these updates also address known issues and bugs. When you update the firmware on your Fitbit device, you’ll also get all the latest software features.
You should update your firmware whenever there’s a new version available. For example, if you’re experiencing an issue with your Fitbit device that isn’t resolved by a restart or battery cycle, updating the firmware may address it. Firmware updates can also improve battery life and performance.
