It can be incredibly frustrating to have your iPhone stolen. Not only do you lose a valuable piece of technology, but all of your personal data is now in the hands of someone else. If you’ve been the victim of iPhone theft, there is a way to unlock your passcode without using a computer. However, this method will only work if you have a four-digit passcode. To begin, enter the wrong passcode four times.
Once you see the “Connect to iTunes” message, hold down the home button and connect your iPhone to a power source. After a few seconds, you should see the option to “Restore from iCloud Backup.” This will allow you to access your backup data and reset your device. While this process will erase all of your current data, it’s a small price to pay for regaining control of your stolen iPhone
If you have Find My iPhone enabled on your device, you can use iCloud to erase it
This will also disable Activation Lock, making it impossible for the thief to use your iPhone. To do this, log into iCloud and select “Find My iPhone.” Click on the “All Devices” drop-down menu and select your stolen iPhone. Click on the “Erase iPhone” button and confirm your decision. Once the process is complete, your iPhone will be wiped clean and you can set it up as new.
If you don’t have Find My iPhone enabled, or if the thief has already erased your device, you can still use iCloud to restore your data. To do this, log into iCloud and select “Restore from Backup.” Choose the most recent backup of your device and wait for the process to finish. Once it’s done, you’ll be able to set up your iPhone as new.
